Indie Head Massage!
Indie Head Massage is a massage therapy treatment that applies warm oil and essential oils to the scalp, hair, neck and shoulders using firm and relaxing therapeutic massage techniques. Hot stones are used throughout the treatment to access muscles deeply while maintaining a relaxing treatment, and small face cups are used to promote lymphatic drainage. All the techniques used in the treatment are within the scope of practice for massage therapy and can be claimed through insurance benefits.
This treatment is deeply relaxing and stress relieving. It can aid in the reduction and prevention of headaches, sinusitis and insomnia. It overall reduces muscle tension in the head, neck and shoulders and can help with TMJ pain. The oil is either jojoba oil or coconut oil, both of which are extremely nourishing for the hair and scalp.
What to Expect:
- This treatment is 45 minutes in length (unless its apart of a regular massage therapy treatment, then it is 30 min of that treatment)
- Areas treated are: scalp, face, neck, shoulders
- Warmed oil with your choice of one essential oil is used over your entire scalp, face and neck (mainly coconut oil or jojoba oil)
- Hot stones and small face cups will be used throughout the treatment
- You will leave the treatment with oil in your hair and over your neck and face. *I recommend you bring a warm toque that you don't mind getting a bit of oil on to wear after the treatment so your head doesn't get cold. If relevant, also bring a clip so you can secure your hair in a soft bun*

I am a Registered Massage Therapist in Peterborough ON and I graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2020 with an advanced diploma in Massage Therapy. I am a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and I run an entirely inclusive, safe space practice.
I love to focus on clear communication, education, and outcome-based treatments to best treat your needs. I listen to each of your concerns carefully and will always try to bring you in as a partner on your treatment journey.
Whether it’s headaches, sore muscles, acute injuries, long term scars, depression, anxiety, fatigue or just wanting some relaxation, I enjoy treating it all and look forward to meeting you.

I have flexible work hours, which means if you don't see a time that works for you, please don't hesitate to email me and I'll see what other options I have. I start around 11am, and try to have at least 1 "after work" time slot available for people that can't get a treatment during typical 9-5 work hours.
